After coming back from Arizona in March, I went back to work for Apr, May, & June. June 26 was my last day of work. The day went just the way I wanted. We went for a Chinese food lunch, and I spent the day cleaning up my computer and putting stuff away. We ended the day with a good-bye drink and the then Hugs & Kisses and Adios Amigos. Thankfully it was not too emotional, although my emotions were on my sleeve.
Many thanks to Bill & Yvonne, for coming over from Port Alberni, to help celebrate the event. We had a very nice visit and got in some golf with Bill. Paul & Lisa were able to join us for dinner on Saturday night to put a nice cap to the weekend.
First up is to attack a few projects around the house, and then to spend sometime on Vancouver Island. First stop is Alder Bay Resort, near Port Mcneill, with Bill & Yvonne, and Fred & Helen, then moving to Salmon Point Resort, near Campbell River, with Paul & Lisa.
More to follow as the summer progresses, as Golf & Pickleball replace pencils and slide rules.
The Del Pueblo Games for 2015, were held over the last week. This included events for Shuffleboard, Golf, Pickleball, Poker, Cribbage, Euchre, Volleyball, Ladder Golf, Horseshoes, etc etc etc, and winds up with an awards dinner held last evening. Here are some photos of the dinner. Bill & I were both given medals for Pickleball, and I also won a silver medal for Euchre. (Card game)
Got this at the Quilt Show!!
I’m not sure how to describe the place. It is in the country, nowhere near town and we had to caravan there to find the place. This place puts on a dinner about once a month and it is attended by the local pickleballers with a head count of 80 – 100 people. Bring your own drinks, other than bottled water which can be purchased onsite. I’ll let the photos below speak for themselves, lots of fun and a truly unique experience…
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. Here are a couple of photos of what goes on here. There is a Dinner/Dance at the Clubhouse. Cost was $40.00, includes Dinner and live band, plus party favours.
I belong to a group here that plays on Tuesday mornings at a small town, Somerton AZ, a couple of miles south of Yuma. The Cocopah Rio Colorado, is a 9 hole course, Par 35, 2588 yds from the white tees and 2902 from the blues. I remembered to take a camera yesterday and got some shots. Unfortunately, I left my game back in the R.V. Oh well, there is always next week…….lol.
